These are such great choices, all distinctively atmospheric. I think each is particularly good at anchoring their characters in the world-building. It isn't just a case of, 'here are some people; here's where they live', rather the reader can see how their surroundings shaped them.

I really enjoyed 'Every Heart a Doorway' too. It hinted at several intriguing fantasy worlds, which I'd like to explore further.
