I'm Rae: a late-thirties, nonbinary (neuroqueer, gendervague), blue-haired programmer and general nerd. You may also know me as villainousfriend. I like materials science, vampires, poetry, cats, science fiction, murder mysteries, Open Data, and terrible things happening in cold places. I live with my partners [personal profile] zarkonnen and T, and our two cats, Sinister and Dexter.

Fandom-wise, I'm very much into Modao Zushi by Moxiang Tongxiu, as well as wuxia, xianxia, danmei, baihe and webnovels more generally. Less active but still beloved fandoms include the Vampire Chronicles (and anything else with vampires), Machineries of Empire, Hannibal, the Velvet Underground and Good Omens.

I'm currently learning Mandarin, bookbinding, and orchid growing.
