Oh wow, yes, that seemed entirely likely! I think I should have spotted "it doesn't look like you'd like these as much as you apparently did", but I'm so used to people reviewing books where they've got used to the bits they liked and it turns into a giant rant about all the things that have slowly started to bother them :)
The bit where she solves crimes with the help of a band of misfits actually sounded quite awesome, too many books skimp on the secondary characters.
I can't remember, have I actually asked you about which urban fantasy you *do* like? I loved the Anita Blake books (well, the first eight), and have read a variety of other urban fantasy books, some of which I've very much enjoyed, but haven't quite filled the same niche.
